Hair Extension Aftercare

|| Salon quality sulfate free/color safe shampoo and conditioner is recommended.

|| Brush hair with a hair extension brush or "wet brush" before entering the shower.

|| Wash gently but throughly in downward motions. If hair is extra dirty shampoo twice.

|| Apply a liberal amount of conditioner  from the midshaft to the ends and use the remainder left on your hands on the top of your hair. Leave the conditioner in your hair until the end of your shower and then rinse well.

|| Blot hair gently with your towel to soak up access water.  Avoid blotting or rubbing to vigorously, this can cause split ends in your hair extensions.  Avoid tying hair up too tightly into a towel, this can cause too much tension on the bonds.

|| Apply a detangling product and then comb your hair with a wide tooth comb.  Hair is most  vulnerable to damage when it is wet so using a wide tooth comb is best. Hold onto your hair extensions while combing and start at the ends and work your way up.

|| Apply any additional products you would like to use.

|| Blow dry hair 80% dry before using a brush, you can stop in between to re-comb the hair if necessary.

|| Now you can use a paddle brush, round brush or extension brush to finish blow drying to smooth the hair.  Sectioning your hair starting at the nape and working your way up the head can help achieve a more thorough and smooth blow dry, and prevent over drying your hair.

|| Make sure hair is 100% dry before using styling tools. At this point you can use a flat iron or curling iron.

|| When curling or flat ironing, sectioning your hair starting at the nape and working your way up your head can make it easier. Keep hair well combed or brushed while using styling tools.

|| Lower heat settings on styling tools is recommended. Now may be the time to upgrade styling tools and blow dryer. You want to protect your investment and get longevity out of your new hair.

|| Wear hair in a low ponytail or braid while sleeping. A satin or silk pillow case is recommended.

Letting Hair Air Dry

|| If letting hair air dry do so early enough in the day to allow enough time for the hair to dry completely.

|| Blow drying the bonds is recommended

|| Never sleep on wet or damp hair, this can cause unruly tangling, slippage, stickiness or mold on extensions.

|| Apply an anti frizz product and/or mouse for control.

|| Do not flat iron hair after hair extensions have air dried wavy.  Too much heat is required to smooth the extensions and can cause damage to the hair.

|| Adding waves with a curling wand can enhance the look of air dried extensions.
